Rob Kling Social Informatics Fellowship
The Rob Kling Center for Social Informatics is pleased to announce the Rob Kling Social Informatics Fellowship. This fellowship of $5,000 will be used to support a doctoral student who is pursuing research in Social Informatics and interested in conducting critical studies on the impact and consequences of computerization, the Internet, or digital media on individuals, organizations, or society. In order to qualify, applicants must have submitted the FAFSA and have demonstrated need (a cost of attendance greater than the expected family contribution). International applicants are able to fill out the FAFSA (although not eligible for the aid it determines) just to find out their cost of attendance and expected family contribution. The winner of this year’s fellowship will be announced in October 2018. This award may be renewable for a second year.
Applicants must submit a brief statement (up to four pages) describing their research related to the above areas and their financial need, complete the application form, and attach a copy of their transcript, a CV, and two letters of reference. Preference will be given to students who have advanced to candidacy, although all doctoral students at Indiana University, Bloomington are encouraged to apply.
